Summary
In this 1917 silent farce, Sam Taylor weaves a labyrinthine narrative of domestic confusion and accidental larceny. The plot centers on a befuddled husband who, through a series of spatial miscalculations, breaches the threshold of an incorrect apartment. Within this alien domicile, he discovers a pair of twin infants and, operating under a delusional veil of paternal pride or perhaps mere whimsy, appropriates the children. His subsequent journey takes him to the sterile environment of his workplace, where he parades the neonates as trophies of his own virility to a cohort of bewildered colleagues. The absurdity escalates when he commissions a German brass ensemble to provide a cacophonous soundtrack for a celebratory feast at a local restaurant. This boisterous revelry serves as the stage for a frantic confrontation when the biological progenitor, flanked by the constabulary, arrives to reclaim his progeny and restore order to a world momentarily unhinged by slapstick happenstance.
