Felix the Cat in Gym Gems

Driven by a gnawing, existential hunger that defines much of his silent-era persona, Felix attempts to derive sustenance from the inorganic—a leather shoe and a bucket of billposter's adhesive. This desperate quest for calories leads the feline into the hyper-masculine, high-impact environment of a professional boxing training camp. What begins as a search for food quickly devolves into a chaotic confrontation with a pugilist whose patience is as thin as Felix’s frame. After a one-sided physical dismantling at the hands of the boxer, Felix abandons the rules of the ring, enlisting the brute force of a mule to orchestrate a revenge that is as mechanically precise as it is comedically cruel. It is a story of the small guy refusing to stay down, even when the world—and the laws of physics—are against him.
