Summary
Captain Hilaire, a man of unblemished honor, finds his distinguished military career abruptly concluded by a wrongful court-martial in France. Stripped of his rank and reputation, he seeks a new life in the rugged frontier of Brazil, securing a demanding position as a foreman in a diamond mine. There, amidst the arduous toil and vast landscapes, his path converges with Diane, the spirited daughter of the mine's proprietor, igniting a passionate romance. Synopsis
Captain Hilaire is wrongfully court martialed by the French Army. He Goes to Brazil where he is hired as a foreman in a Diamond mine. There, he falls in love with Diane, the boss's daughter, but when they are away, Hilaire is framed for stealing from the company by his rival, Remsen, and is sent to a Devil's Island-like prison camp. Eventually, Remson, too is sent there, where he confesses on his death bed, freeing Hilaire.
