Summary
In an era defined by rigid social strata and the burgeoning allure of the stage, an English nobleman, a scion of ancient lineage, finds himself utterly captivated by a vibrant chorus girl. Their whirlwind romance culminates in a marriage that bridges the chasm between aristocracy and the theatrical world. However, the joyous union takes an astonishing turn when the new Lady of the manor is introduced to her husband's ancestral castle and its meticulously maintained household. What begins as a meet-and-greet swiftly devolves into an existential comedic crisis: every single one of the twenty-three domestic staff members, from the venerable butler to the scullery maid, is revealed to be her direct blood relative—a sprawling, interconnected web of aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins. This sudden, bewildering discovery transforms her dream marriage into a disorienting, hilariously entangled domestic labyrinth, challenging her understanding of family, class, and her own newfound identity within this bewildering, kin-filled estate.
