The Cat's Whiskers

In the whimsical silent-era narrative of "The Cat's Whiskers," we are introduced to Penelope Plum (Thelma Hill), a spirited young woman burdened by the recent inheritance of her eccentric Aunt Matilda's dilapidated estate. The true inheritance, however, proves to be Whiskers, an unusually sagacious feline with an uncanny knack for discerning character and an apparent connection to a long-lost family secret. As Penelope grapples with the house's peculiar quirks and dwindling finances, a charming, albeit initially opportunistic, local historian, Arthur Finch (Martin Kinney), arrives, ostensibly to research the estate's lineage. Their burgeoning, often comical, relationship is constantly influenced by Whiskers' seemingly intentional interventions, which range from leading them to hidden compartments to subtly sabotaging Arthur’s more self-serving impulses.
