Summary

A glacier-lacquered sanatorium of the Swiss Alps becomes the stage for a combustion of class and carnality when an aristocratic stripling, dispatched by his lineage to purge restlessness, collides with a widow whose veiled past glimmers like moonlight on knife-blades.
