Summary
In an era where social standing often dictated romantic suitability, the affluent Alice Stanton finds herself betrothed to Ken Lansing, a professional gambler whose profession, rather than his character, draws the ire of her discerning parents. Unconvinced of Lansing's worthiness, and perhaps harboring a deeper distrust of his chosen career, Alice’s parents orchestrate an elaborate scheme. They enlist Yvette, a woman of captivating beauty and undeniable allure, to tempt Ken, hoping to expose him as a philanderer. This calculated deception aims to shatter Alice's faith in her fiancé, thereby dissolving the engagement. Ken, a man caught between genuine affection and a cunningly laid trap, must navigate Yvette's seductive machinations. His ability to withstand this orchestrated trial will determine not only his integrity in Alice's eyes but also the very future of their union.
