Born in Enosburg, Vermont, on 6 December 1885, E. Mason Hopper forged a career that saw him both behind and in front of the camera. A prolific director and actor, he is remembered for his contributions to films like the 1916 drama Gloriana, the intriguing The Hidden Spring (1917), and the later Hong Kong Nights (1935).
