A native of Düsseldorf born on 12 July 1892, Harry Piel established himself as a multifaceted architect of German cinema, commanding the screen as both a director and a writer. His visionary storytelling is immortalized in works like the 1918 production 'Diplomaten,' the layered 1924 narrative 'Menschen und Masken, 1. Teil - Der falsche Emir,' and the 1934 feature 'Der Herr der Welt.' Throughout his journey, he was married to Dary Holm and later Johanna Präder. Piel’s long-standing influence on the film world concluded in Munich, where he passed away on 27 March 1963.
