Summary
Buck Brady is a man forged by the shadows of a stolen legacy. After witnessing the fraudulent seizure of his father’s gold mine as a child, he spends his adulthood operating on the fringes of the law, fueled by a singular, cold desire for retribution. His method is direct: he strikes at the mine’s lifeblood by intercepting its payroll messengers, reclaiming in cash what was taken in ore. However, the moral clarity of his mission is muddied when he encounters Janet Laurier. Initially a target of his interest, he discovers she is the current owner of the disputed mine. The conflict shifts from a simple heist to a desperate rescue when Buck uncovers a conspiracy led by Tilford, a crooked foreman with lethal ambitions.
