Hunting in 1950

In this frantic 1926 installment of the Aesop's Film Fables series, the perennial curmudgeon Farmer Al Falfa attempts to navigate the rigors of the 'future' with a disastrous hunting expedition. Set in a speculative 1950, the film finds our protagonist trading his traditional pitchfork for a rifle, only to find that the local wildlife has become significantly more clever than his primitive weaponry allows. From anthropomorphic trees to animals that defy the laws of physics, Al Falfa’s outing descends into a series of rubber-hose humiliations. It is a cynical, slapstick exploration of man’s incompetence when faced with nature, wrapped in the industrial, assembly-line animation style that defined the Paul Terry era.
