The Child of Paris

A tender, fragile soul, the young daughter of a valorous army captain lost to the ravages of war, finds herself adrift from the structured sanctuary of her boarding school. Her innocent yearning for her absent father tragically propels her into the labyrinthine underbelly of Belle Époque Paris, where she falls prey to a syndicate of hardened urban miscreants. The architect of her abduction, a callous figure named Louis Leubas, spirits the child away to the sun-drenched shores of Nice, a stark geographical and moral contrast to the grimy capital.
