
Summary
Robert Street, a novelist celebrated for his aviation thrillers, masquerades as a seasoned aviator despite never having taken the controls, and harbors an irrational dread of aircraft. When the charismatic Grace Douglas declares her affection as a prize for the fastest pilot, Street is thrust into a rivalry with the dashing ace Jules Gaillard. Compelled by love and reputation, Street assembles a cadre of friends who concoct elaborate schemes to extricate him from the aerial contest. Yet each ploy collapses, forcing Street to confront his terror, commandeer a plane, and, against all odds, outfly Gaillard to claim Grace’s heart.
Synopsis
Robert Street, an author of aviation novels, has acquired the reputation of being an expert pilot, though he is without experience and has an unreasonable fear of airplanes. He is challenged to compete with ace pilot Jules Gaillard in a race for Grace Douglas' love. The film climaxes in Street's thrilling victory after his friends vainly attempt to help him duck out of the competition.
