Summary
Within the gothic chambers of Professor Jakob ten Brinken's laboratory, botanical blasphemy takes human form. Through perverse manipulation of ancient folklore, the madman forces conception between a condemned prostitute and the anthropomorphic mandrake root—a tuberous creature whispered to sprout beneath gallows where hanged men's semen meets earth. From this unholy union emerges Alraune, a woman of ethereal beauty with eyes holding primordial wilderness. As she matures under ten Brinken's clinical observation, her hybrid nature manifests: a seductress whose kisses unravel men's sanity, yet herself tormented by existential void. Aristocrats become puppets in her destructive ballet until the creator confronts his amoral experiment—only to discover the mandrake's curse extends beyond mere mortality into psychological damnation.
Synopsis
A mad scientist "creates" a beautiful but demonic woman, the result of a forced sexual union between a woman and a mandrake root, a plant said to have magical powers due to its uncanny resemblance to the human body.
