Summary
In a labyrinthine narrative of industrialist anxiety and spectral intimidation, Red Lights navigates the fractured reunion between a railroad titan and his long-lost progeny. Decades after a traumatic abduction, the daughter of a locomotive magnate returns to the gilded cage of her father’s empire, only to find herself besieged by an ephemeral antagonist. This nameless shadow orchestrates a campaign of psychological warfare, utilizing the very language of the tracks—sinister crimson signals—to flash omens of impending doom. The arrival of a detective specializing in the nascent science of pre-crime prevention shifts the friction from domestic trauma to high-speed peril. As the investigation hurtles toward a climax aboard a thundering express train, the boundaries between technological progress and primordial fear dissolve, culminating in a blood-stained mystery where the rhythmic clatter of the wheels serves as a metronome for murder.
