Biography
Denver, Colorado, 26 January 1880: Sylvia Ashton came into the world, and by the dawn of the 1920s she had stepped squarely into the glow of the silver sheet. Moviegoers remember her razor-sharp timing in *The Fourteenth Man* (1920), her locomotive-sparked charm in *The Love Special* (1921), and the raw desperation she brought to *Greed* (1924). Nearly two decades after that last landmark role, she drew her final breath in Los Angeles, California, on 17 November 1940.
