Summary
In this cinematic opus, Bart Tullison, a parolee with a checkered past, assumes the role of foreman on Anita Stillwell's sprawling ranch situated near the Nevada border. His tenure is marked by a defining characteristic: an unwavering reluctance to pursue cattle rustlers across the border, an aspect that precipitates Anita's perception of him as a coward. However, the narrative takes a compelling turn with the introduction of Jefferson Bradshaw, who, cognizant of Bart's history, resolves to exploit it in order to thwart the burgeoning affection between Anita and Bart. Bradshaw's machinations culminate in the kidnapping of Anita, whom he transports into the Nevada territory. Undeterred, Bart embarks upon a perilous journey to rescue her. The ensuing confrontation results in a physical altercation, during which Bradshaw is pummeled. The denouement is characterized by the timely arrival of the sheriff, who presents Bart with a pardon and reveals the confession of the true perpetrator of the crime for which Bart was previously convicted on circumstantial evidence.
